The vineyard
Organic cultivation method
The vineyards are on a hilly land and are 6 hectares large. The ground has Pliocene origins, is a sandy and clay soil full of fossils. We decided to assume an organic cultivation method, that permits to have very good grape quality. We harvest without the help of machines and we put the grapes in small boxes of 20 kg. At present Antonella leads the farm together with her daughter Flavia and her son-in-law Francesco.
The Cellar
Between tradition and innovation
The project of the cellar was made by Giovanni Leoncini in the 90’s. He was a very important chartered surveyor, that asserted himself in wine production. The cellar has modern vinification techniques, but respecting the traditions. Vernaccia wine vinifies inside stainless steel vats at controlled temperature. red wines vinify in cement vats. The best wines, Vernaccia Rialto and Rosso Serreto, after the fermentation, stay in barriques of French oak in a special underground cellar.
