The proposal of the day is Adamo Bio winery Sicilian white wines trilogy. As it is in the cinema field, in this case the wines produced by the wise Vincenzo Adamo are a different interpretation and evolution of the same subjects (the Sicilian organic white wines) in the same reference context, that is to say the territory ( in this case Alcamo area in the west of Sicily). This is the best way to catch all the properties and enologic shades of a territory, in reference both to the wine varieties and local origin denominations as the Grillo and the Alcamo DOC (Italy most ancient DOC), that the international wine varieties as it is in the case of the Sauvignon Costa dell’Ape. The approach in Adamo wines is towards the natural expression of the terroir and the vineyards, without building excessively the wines in the winery in their consistencies and aromas, through the organic certifies agricultures methods without treatments that could damage the ground and the marvelous Valle d’Alcamo.

In the Isonzo (Eastern Part of Friuli Venezia Giulia) , a few kilometers from the border with Slovenia, since XIII Century the Castello di Spessa castle raises in all of its beauty, as a witness of the history of its own land. Despite the natural property changes occurred during the centuries one thing has never changed, that is to say the surrounding area vocation to the viticulture, which is still nowadays studded with vineyards and natural landscapes, making the estate (which also hosts ceremonies, events and so on) a reality isolated from the normal passing of time. In the Merlot Friuli Isonzo DOC - Castello di Spessa we have found a wine that traces this concept, a product that remains anchored to a timeless expression of its own land due to the meeting between the northern boreal winds and the warm clime coming from the near Adriatic Sea, with the Castello di Spessa wines following great quality lines. Friulian Merlot Balsamic, red fruit under spirit and licorice notes, coordinated by a full bodied structure, almost fortified but velvety at the right level not to result invasive, assisted at best by the aromatic bouquet.

We can’t nothing but widely congratulate with our friend and then supplier Stefano, the owner of Camilucci Franciacorta winery for the 93/100 assigned to the Anthologie Blanc Franciacorta Extra Brut D.O.C.G. Millesimato - Camilucci by Luca Gardini ( Gardini Wine Notes), one of the most demanding palate of the international enology scene. Well deserved goals and satisfactions, for a wine maker that dedicates all of himself to the passion for wine and everything that surrounds it, from the bound to the territory, to the work both in the vineyards and in the refinement phase, obtaining truly excellent Franciacorta wines not only in our opinion, but also as the awards testify for this young and ambitious winery. In 2019 Carpineto has achieved many both national and international prestigious awards, due to the constant work in the vineyards and the research of the most natural possible processes to reflect the peculiarities of its own territory following sustainable winemaking methods. A Tuscan winery that since it was born stands out for the differentiation between its productions, a work starting from the ground up to the refinement. In this way the personal characteristics of each different wine are enhanced, with a particular attention for the aging, that in most bottles overcomes three years. We of OIP sincerely applaud Carpineto for their job and the results, we will soon publish the specific news about some of their wines as Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino, Molin Vecchio IGT Rosso Toscano 2006, Montepulciano - Carpineto* and many others on our website and social pages.

The typical Eno-gastronomy is a relevant part in the knowledge of a territory, and it reveals more than you would ever think about it. As a consequence, to discover deeply the perfumes and tastes of a city, province, area or region which means is better than wine? A concrete example of this bond is the Valtènesi Chiaretto DOP, typical wine exclusive of the western side of the lake, a section with unique conditions. Valtènesi Chiaretto D.O.P. “Preaféte” BIO organic - Podere dei Folli has in its intense rosé with ruby shades characteristic color the dynamism of an area that within few kilometers can totally change its cultural and environmental scenario. The floral perfumes are the ones that you can feel during spring of which this zone is plenty of, particularly the lotus flower typical of the Sovenigo lakes area in Valtenesi, where the wine cellar Podere dei Folli has its vineyards. A wine that must be drunk young, with a great acidity, fruity tastes with sapid and mineral notes in the end.

The Cantina Lazzari’s, from Capriano del Colle (Brescia), is a story of passion and redress. The Capriano del Colle DOC denomination, where the company vineyards and the wine cellar are places, was known only for low quality wines for the local market, but the Lazzari family knew that this territory was endowed with truly enviable potential and qualities out of ordinary. So it was born a project with the aim of enhancing the terroir, to present a wine not elaborated in the wine cellar, but a wine that reflected the qualities of the territory itself. A company philosophy that consequently treats the ground with the highest respect, relying on clean, renewable energy as the photovoltaic, and eliminating the use of pesticides obtaining the organic certification too. The results have proved Lazzari family work right, with has its flagship in the many international recognitions obtained by Capriano del Colle DOC Rosso Riserva degli Angeli -Lazzari. Intense red ruby color, mature red fruits and spices aromas. At the palate it is very soft, round and gentle despite the 15% alcoholic volume, there the spices come back, accompanied by a really pleasant vanilla note.

It’s never the wrong moment for a new wine tasting, yesterday it was Mandrarossa turn. A Sicilian wine cellar with vineyards sprinkled in the southern area of Sicily, precisely in Menfi, in the province of Agrigento. It is an area endowed with a constant sun exposure and particular environmental conditions: the vineyards directly overlook the sea, absorbing both its air and ground properties, from the moment that the soil is partly sandy. We tried a local monovarietal, the COSTADUNE GRECANICO - Mandrarossa, a typical Sicilian wine. The color is straw yellow with greenish glares, it immediately stands out flower perfumes, reached by citrus aromas and a light apricot fragrance. The proximity to the sea gives a pleasant minerality , accompanied by citrus notes and an almond finale confirming its freshness and quaffable.

Indeed he is the owner of the Wine Company Pratum Coller, which is located in Flero, in the province of Brescia. A territory endowed with an historical enological vocation to which Andrea connected since his childhood, as for wine making, a family tradition that he has been developing with this new project. Tasting the Arduo IGP Montenetto - Pratum Coller By Andrea Pirlo, as the name suggests (Arduo=Arduous) you can feel immediately the passion and dedication in the creation of this red wine. The blend of Merlot, Sangiovese e Marzemino, with a touch of Cabernet, plays on a subtle and polished balance. The perfumes are above all red fruits and spices, while at the palate in the first instance you will find red fruits again, but this time accompanied by tertiary notes with an enveloping and important structure due to the one year refinement in barriques, which brilliantly sustains the 15% alcoholic vol.

Adamo is an historical name in the Sicilian wine background. At the beginning of 20th century Figli Adamo was one of the most high standing Sicilian companies in the field, the wine cellar even had its own train line due to the huge request and the success of the high quality Sicilian wines produced. Unfortunately the familiar contrasts led to the closure of the activity at the end of the 80s, until Vincenzo Adamo, raised in the middle of the vineyards and endowed with a natural passion for the wine universe, deals with the relaunch of the company funding Adamobio. The production includes only organic wines, cultivating some international vine varieties but strongly oriented towards the development of local Sicilian grape varieties. The trend is not producing only blends, but many pure varietal wines too, in order to convey the most authentic expression of the vine variety in that precise territory.

Every vine variety, according to the different geographic position, terroir and clime performs in a different way. Some places have proven to be the ideal match with a particular type of wine varietal, his is the case of the Trentino Alto Adige and the Gewurztraminer. This area is the perfect thanks to its rocky ground, the hight and the cold-temperate clime. The historical wine cellar Abbazia di Novaccella started the production in 1142, the vineyards are located in the places with the most extreme conditions, as only there it is possible to have the best exposition and obtain the best from these kinds of vine varieties. ABBAZIA DI NOVACELLA Gewürztraminer Praepositus 2016 is an Italian wine which has been rewarded many times thanks to its high quality, the color is the typical one with golden shades. The aromatic profile shows exotic fruits and spices (cinnamon, cloves), the same feelings continue in the palate sustained by a great structure and persistence.

The wine cellar Lenza was one of the first to produce Franciacorta wines starting in 1964. The vineyards are placed in a very strategic position, as they are on the highest hill in the whole Franciacorta (Mount Orfano) at 350 m but at the same time they're on the side exposed to the sun almost all day long. These two elements contribute so much to the quality and the personal character of the wines. The wines are made in the whole respect of the territory and nature, through natural methods as the organic-natural stabilization or the enological clean through decantation. Today we're describing the FRANCIACORTA BRUT LeVì - Lenza a Franciacorta brut refining 24 month in bottle on the yeasts, the color is straw yellow with some green shade, the perfume is finely influenced by the yeasts, while at the palate its sapidity combines well with the typical Franciacorta docg acidity. We remind you that it is possible to acquire a pallet of 12 or 120 bottles of this wine at a special price.

Today we’re introducing you the Villa, a great Franciacorta docg producers. The company is located in a medieval hamlet in Monticelli Brusati, near the Lake of Iseo, the 37 hectares of vineyards surround the wine cellar both in the plain and over the hillside divided in big steps, giving a magnificent panorama. The ground is naturally very rich in clay, minerals and fossils of marine origine, this explains the particular aromatic complexity and sapidity of the wines. Villa has decided to produce only millesimal (that is to say wine with at least 85% grapes from the same vintage and not a cuveè), in order to enhance the characteristic of every different vintage deriving from different clime, weather and soil, but is is also a sign of trust in the constant quality of the wines. Villa Franciacorta Emozione Brut Millesimato: at the sight it is perfectly limpid, straw yellow with light golden shades, the nose denotes floral and exotic fruit. A the palate exotic fruit is easy to taste again, accompanied by the characteristic Franciacorta fragrance of bread derived from the classic method and a mineral, sapid aftertaste.

Agricultural Company Cobue: Not only Lugana among the wonderful vineyards on like of Garda. Yesterday we were lucky to visit the Agricultural Company Cobue, located in the southern area of Lake of Garda. The vineyards extend for 17 hectares, surrounding the wine cellar with a mangnificent panorama of the Lake. The wine cellar is modern and innovative, specifically dug under the ground level to maintain constant temperature and humidity in the most natural way all year long. What makes the company different is the choice to not produce only Lugana (as it happens in the 90% of the cases in the area), but make wines with other local traditional grape varieties, each one in the way that fit the best to the vine variety. We had the occasion to taste Monte Olivi San Martino della Battaglia 2015 - Cobue, a white wine 100% made up of historic Tuchi (former Tocai) grapes. Straw yellow color with golden shades, the main aromas are white flowers with a particular chamomile note; a the palate the freshness exalts the aromas which are find again in the mouth with a balance light almond final. Ideal pairing with appetizers, pasta dishes, risotto and fish main courses.

Yesterday we were lucky to visit the Agricultural Company Cobue, located in the southern area of Lake of Garda. The vineyards extend for 17 hectares, surrounding the wine cellar with a mangnificent panorama of the Lake. The wine cellar is modern and innovative, specifically dug under the ground level to maintain constant temperature and humidity in the most natural way all year long. What makes the company different is the choice to not produce only Lugana (as it happens in the 90% of the cases in the area), but make wines with other local traditional grape varieties, each one in the way that fit the best to the vine variety. We had the occasion to taste S.Martino della Battaglia, a white wine 100% made up of historic Tuchi (former Tocai) grapes. Straw yellow color with golden shades, the main aromas are white flowers with a particular chamomile note; a the palate the freshness exalts the aromas which are find again in the mouth with a balance light almond final. Ideal pairing with appetizers, pasta dishes, risotto and fish main courses.

Sicily has a territory endowed with a strong wine making vocation, the region historically is among the five best producers in Italy. A quantity characterized by great quality and variety, indeed there are 14 types of Sicilian local vineyards (the most well known Nero d'Avola, Perricone, Grillo, Cataratto, Zibibbo), have been added some international vineyards like Chardonnay e Syrah, which have received new peculiarities from the Sicilian ground. Today we will talk you about Cataratto IGP Terre di Sicilia - Az. Agricola Biologica Adamo, an organic wine, that represents perfectly the territory from which it comes from. It is born 100% from Catarratto white grapes, at the nose you can feel evident herbaceous and floral aromas. At the palate the primary tastes are citrus, on a second time tropical fruit with an alcoholic note, showing anyway an excellent balance and a pleasant sapid aftertaste.

Piedmontese wines are well known for their strong character and their important structure. As a consequence, the wine-making tradition is mainly centered on the red wines production as Barbera, Barbaresco and Barolo. The Poderi Colla are in the heart of Langhe, precisely in Alba, an area of Piedmont renowned all over the world for the production of first level food and wine excellences. The wine cellar vineyards are at an average height of 150m, on a hill round exposed ground. Part of the vineyard has been planted before 1930, with a partial renovation in 1955, moreover joining the agricultural program instituted by the Piedmont regional institutions with the aim of a total environmental sustainability. Today we’re describing you the Barbera d’Alba Poderi Colla. As it is a vine variety endowed with a very high yield, its production is limited to obtain an higher quality. The colour is a violet intense red, strong vinous aroma with floral tones of strawberry, cherry and prunes. On the gustatory side the tannin is light, it is enjoyable young but its structure is full bodied and ideal for long aging too. A whole meal wine to pair with pastas, soups and meat pies; great also for the preparation of sauces and beef stews.

To the nose its fragrance is of fresh fruit, with a defined resemblance to rennet apple. In the mouth it expands vigorously and is immediately pleasing, enchanting the palate with fruity sensations and unmistakable smoothness. Young and intriguing, it combines a pleasantly sweet aftertaste with an inviting freshness.

The Tuscan landscape has always had an almost magnetic attractiveness towards its spectators, from the Chianti hills to the Maremma, these natural beauties are famous not only within the national borders but also in the whole world. Morellino di Scansano Abos - Podere Castellaccia is a perfect portrait of this territory. A product that comes from the southern part of Tuscany, in the Province of Grosseto, on a Maremma hill (127m a.s.l), 50 hectares of vineyards just few kilometers from the sea shores. The company and wine cellar can be visited in order to admire the outstanding natural landscape while tasting a 100% Tuscan wine coming from local vineyards.
