Manufacturer: François Bertheau
It’s a wine that makes elegance its strong point.
In the glass is a deep ruby color, very bright, to the nose there are spicy notes, but never such as to cover a wide and variegated floral base.
Representing the fifth generation of winegrowers, François Bertheau took over the family estate in 2004. Like the great winemakers of Burgundy, he loves to keep a reserved profile and prefers to express himself with his wines, wonderful nectars of legendary denominations, which you know well: Chambolle-Musigny or even Bonnes-Marres.
It is a wine with ephemeral and varied flavors.
The Chambolle of Francois is a classic school wine, super traditional in search of the definition of the terroir.
The approximately 6 hectares of vineyards are cultivated with great precision and excellent knowledge of the terroir. The Domaine François Bertheau cultivates exclusively Pinot Noir on clay-limestone soils typical of the Côte de Nuits. The vineyards have an average age of 45 years.
The aging lasts about 18 months and takes place in oak barrels with 20-30% of new wood.
