DESCRIPTION OF THE RED CIR HISTORICAL LABEL
The Cirò Rosso Classico Superiore "Historical Label" is a product capable of conveying all the grace of the type and grape from which it originates, Gaglioppo, a great native of the Calabrian territory. A concentrated sip develops on a lively tannin, while the nose is dominated by aromas that recall the Mediterranean scrub typical of southern Italy. Scala, a winery located in Cirò Marina, in the province of Crotone, gives life to a label with an ancient profile, the result of sixty years of experience.
The "Historical Label" is a Cirò Rosso Classico Superiore that comes from the pure grapes of a great Calabrian native vine, Gaglioppo. The vines of this variety, whose average age is around 30 years, grow in vineyards located about 200 meters above sea level, sinking their roots in a clayey and calcareous soil, facing south and south-east. The grapes, after the harvest, are taken to the rooms used for the vinification of the Scala winery, and here they are softly pressed, then macerated on the skins for 15 days and alcoholically fermented in cement. Still in concrete tanks, the wine rests for a period between 24 and 36 months, after which it is ready to be bottled and marketed.
Cirò Rosso Classico Superiore Scala "Historical Label" announces itself to the eye with a ruby color. The aromas that envelop the nose recall sensations of Mediterranean scrub, alternating with more spicy and savory nuances. On the palate it is full-bodied, harmonious, with a sip characterized by a pleasant freshness and a tannic texture finely integrated into the general structure. A Calabrian wine with which the Scala winery, a production reality in which innovative winemaking technologies and modern machinery are combined with respect for local traditions and the enhancement of the territory, gives us the perfect label to accompany the land menus.
Ruby red color
Scent Rich and intense with hints of Mediterranean scrub, sweet spices, dark fruit, dried violets and saline nuances
Taste Balanced, full, fresh and with intense and well integrated tannins
