The Villa Matta Amarone della Valpolicella is a dry red DOCG wine from Veneto, made from Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella. Intense garnet color, with aromas of red fruits, tobacco, and spices. On the palate, it is full, velvety, and warm, with an elegant persistence. Aged in oak, it pairs beautifully with red meats and aged cheeses. Serve at 18-20°C.

Colour

Intense, deep garnet red, with violet reflections evolving into orange hues with aging.

Bouquet

Intense, complex, evoking ripe red fruits, cherry in spirit, plum, tobacco, cocoa, spicy and balsamic notes.

Taste

Full, velvety and warm, with soft, well-integrated tannins. Long and persistent, with an aftertaste of dried fruit and spices.

Alcohol content

15.5% vol.

Type of glass

Large "Amarone" or "Bordeaux Grande" glass, to allow good oxygenation and appreciate all the aromas.

Pairings

Ideal with roasted red meats, game, braised dishes, aged cheeses, and robust meals. Excellent also as a meditation wine.

Refinement

Over 24 months in oak barrels, followed by an additional period in bottle to refine complexity and harmony.

Vinification

Natural drying of the grapes for 3-4 months in a fruit cellar, soft pressing, slow fermentation at controlled temperature.

18-20°C. Open the bottle an hour before serving for best expression.
