The nine single-vineyard Barbaresco produced by the Produttori del Barbaresco are all situated in the Barbaresco village boundary and have been famous for more than a century as top sites for Nebbiolo quality production. Here the soil, exposure, slope and drainage, [in one word the microclimate,] reaches its peak to create a crop of great quality and unique personality.
Following are the benchmark characteristics for each of the Crus.

The Barbaresco is a wine that ages for al long time. It is somewhat less stringent than the Barolo. After 4-8 years after the harvest, it can be drunk. It has an aging potential of 8-30 years, in which it steadily improves.

This dry, elegant and full-bodied wine has rich and complex tannins.

Younger vintages are pleasantly fruity, even if they still appear closed on the palate. Prolonged maturation opens the typical notes of violets, dried flowers and spices. The finish is long lasting and soft.

Traditionally we drink Barbaresco to typical dishes from Piedmont.

Soil: calcareous limestone with sandy veins

Vinification: fermentation at 30°c/85°f / skin contact time of 28 days / malolactic completed

Ageing: 36 months in large oak barrels / 8 months in bottles

Longevity: 20 years

Vintage character: full body vintage with intense and rich fruit, ripe, powerful tannins and very long finish

Vineyard character: complex and elegant, silky tannins and intense dark fruit on the finish

Food pairing: fresh egg-pasta dishes, risotto, white and red meat, game, venison, cheeses.
