Manufacturer: Danilo Thomain
Welcome to hell. The Thomain winery is located in Arvier, a small town in the Valle d'Aosta 700 meters above sea level just after Aosta. One of the smallest DOC wines in Italy, Enfer d'Arvier, was born here in 1973. Danilo Thomain was and is certainly the greatest exponent of this wonderful wine, obtained from a total of only 10 hectares of vineyards.
The winery has 3 hectares divided almost equally between new vineyards and vineyards about 60 years old. 90% is cultivated with Petit Rouge, an excellent autochthonous grape and the remaining 10% with Pinot Noir.
The processes, despite the increasingly difficult climate, are all natural. Spontaneous fermentation, no type of filtration and the lack of new wood are the dogmas of production.
Thomain wines are practically impossible to find, in special vintages they reach 15000 bottles, most of which end up abroad, where this DOC has achieved great success.
