Manufacturer: Castelvecchio
The Terrano is a typical territorial expression of the Karst. Castelvecchio accentuates the fresh and pleasant notes which this label expresses in its youth and which make it particularly easy to combine with any meal. It does not carry out malic fermentation, therefore it has clear mineral hints, attributable to iron, but also of small berries, such as blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, in good consistency with the taste, very fresh, slightly tannic and pleasantly rough.

DESCRIPTION OF THE TERRANO
Terrano di Castelvecchio is an exuberant wine, capable of conquering the soul of those unfamiliar with this particular Friulian grape. The essence on the nose tells different nuances of fruit, even wild, while on the palate a savory sip is not too intense, characterized by an interesting tannicity, which makes the drink solid and safe. A label that testifies to the bond with the territory of a winery that has always told the karst lands with authenticity.
The Terrano red is made by the Castelvecchio winery starting from the pure grapes of Terrano, an indigenous variety of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The vines are located within the magnificent landscape of the Karst Natural Park, and have their roots in a soil made of limestone rocks and red earth rich in minerals. The Bora wind blows between the rows, capable of leading to significant temperature variations between day and night. The berries are gently pressed, and the must ferments in stainless steel containers. The final phase has a total duration of 9 months and takes place in steel; at the end of this period the Terrano is ready to be bottled and put on the market.
Terrano Castelvecchio wine reveals itself to the eye with an intense and concentrated ruby color, characterized by some slight reflection that tends more to purplish. Fruit is the undoubted protagonist of the olfactory path that is outlined on the nose, declined with intense touches that wrap around the nostrils. It enters the mouth with a medium-bodied sip, in which one can appreciate an evident gustatory mineral vein, enriched by a freshness and a strong and marked tannin. An interesting wine also in the kitchen, which, if drunk young, also goes well with "fatty" fish, such as carp and eel.
Color Intense deep ruby red with violet reflections
Scent Notes of plum, morello cherry, blueberries, blackberries and wild strawberries
Taste Clear mineral notes, iron, accentuated freshness, good sapidity, great tannins
