DESCRIPTION OF THE SOMMELIER
The Vitovska signed by Castelvecchio is a white wine with a dry and mineral first impact. It is a bottle that reveals the will of the winery to enhance the indigenous vines of the area, thus affirming its identity, which has its roots in the Friulian Karst. A label that does not need too many words, but rather a curious and attentive look, ready to try its hand with a sincere grape, which benefits from a processing carried out exclusively in steel.
Vitovska wine made by the Castelvecchio winery comes from those vineyards located within the Karst natural park. Vitovska is in fact an autochthonous varietal typical of this area of Friuli. We are in soils characterized by limestone and red earth, rich in minerals; the climate between the rows is affected by the Bora wind, and is characterized by particular temperature variations between day and night. The grapes obtained after de-stemming the bunches are softly pressed, and the must begins to ferment in stainless steel containers. The production process ends with a passage of a few months in steel, and the wine is then ready to be bottled.
Vitovska Castelvecchio is evident to the eye with a concentrated straw yellow color. On the nose there are sweet references of honey, alternating with lighter touches that bring back to aromatic herbs. On the palate it is light-bodied, delicate and subtle thanks to a punctual sip that flows easily, offering a savory and fresh flavor. A label that examines an indigenous Friulian vine not too well known, coming from the Karst area, capable of surprising those who want to "expand" their culture in terms of whites from northern Italy. To try.
Color Intense straw yellow
Scent Notes of acacia and wildflower honey, pollen and strong aromatic herbs such as thyme and sage
Taste Fine, elegant, it offers pleasant mineral notes, good flavor and freshness
