This wine is made exclusively from
Nebbiolo grapes cultivated on the terracings
situated between the two villages
of Poggiridenti and Tresivio.
The name “Inferno” derives from the
climatic conditions in the area since
the terracings where the vineyards are
situated are sheltered by the Calvario
promontory and consequently during
the summer season the temperature
is particularly high.
Its colour is vivid ruby-red while its
perfume is ethereal and characterized
by a violet and plum-jam bouquet.
Its flavour is tannic, perky with a
pleasant suggestion of roasted nuts.
It is superb with red meat roasts and
game. Like all Valtellina Superiore
wines, it improves with long ageing.
