The Villa Russiz Merlot Graf De La Tour 2004 is an exceptional Italian red wine from Friuli Venezia Giulia. Made from 100% Merlot grapes, it displays an intense ruby red color with garnet reflections. The nose is complex, with notes of ripe red fruits, plum, sweet spices, vanilla, tobacco, and leather. On the palate, it is full, soft, and enveloping, with great structure and velvety tannins leading to a long finish. Aged in barriques for 12-18 months and then in bottle, it has an alcohol content of 14% vol. It is ideal with red meats, game, and aged cheeses, served at 16-18°C in a large glass. A Merlot of great character and finesse.
