Montecucco DOC Sangiovese Riserva
An elegant wine produced with Sangiovese grapes; the
low yield per hectare of the historic vines, the selection
of the grapes, long maceration on the skins in wood, ageing
in barrels and additional ageing in the bottle, make this
product the jewel of the farm.
Grape blend: 100% Sangiovese
Vineyard Location: All within the Estate at an altitude
of 360 m ASL
Cultivation system: Guyot - Runner system
Vine density per hectare: 3,600-5,300
Harvest: By hand during the month of September
Fermentation temperature: 30°C
Vinification: The grapes are vinified in open oak barrels
where each day the pomace is pressed seven times, entirely
by hand. After 8 days the wine is moved and placed in
new oak barrels, where it remains for at least 18 months.
Production: 7,000 bottles
Organoleptic notes
Color: Intense ruby red.
Smell: Lively, with fragrances of small red fruits, very
complex.
Taste: Lively with silky and compact tannins that combine
a balanced taste with the alcoholic component.
