DESCRIPTION OF VALPOLICELLA MORANDINA
Valpolicella "Morandina" di Prà is a red typical of the area from which it comes, an expression of native vines processed with skilful craftsmanship. We are faced with a harmonious label, where in a mineral olfactory background we find clear hints of spices and small berries, prelude to a fresh sip, of marked drinkability. A label that testifies how the winery is able to go from more demanding products to lighter and more carefree reds, always guaranteeing an excellent quality standard.
The “Morandina” Valpolicella di Prà originates from a classic blend of the territory, in which we find Corvina, Rondinella, Oseleta and Corvinone with different percentages. These varieties grow in different plots located at a height of 450 meters above sea level and facing south-east, in a terroir of glacial origin. After the manual harvest in mid-October, the bunches are left to dry for about twenty days. After crushing and destemming, the must ferments in steel, also carrying out the malolactic fermentation. It then proceeds with a short final refinement in oak barrels with a capacity of 20 hectoliters.
The "Morandina" Prà announces itself with a ruby red dress, adorned with outlines that tend more to purplish. The olfactory spectrum is orchestrated on wild berries, embellished with more spicy touches and mineral hints, more evident at the end of the olfactory analysis. On the palate it is light-bodied and flowing, with a fresh and savory texture, which on the finish reveals a perfect taste-olfactory balance with the fruity and spicy notes already felt on the nose. A versatile label at the table, which in addition to matching well with cured meats and sausages, should also be tried in a more original way, with a freshly seared steak of tuna: the result will surprise you!
Brilliant ruby color with violet reflections
Scent Wild berries, currants, mixed spices and mineral tones
Taste Very fresh and savory, soft and balanced, persistent finish of currant and black pepper
