The Mazzei Chianti Classico Fonterutoli 2001 is a Tuscan icon made from Sangiovese. Ruby red with garnet hues, it offers a complex bouquet of red fruit, spices, and tertiary notes. On the palate, it's structured, harmonious, and persistent, with integrated tannins and a pleasant freshness. Ideal with meat and cheeses. Serve at 16-18°C.

Intense ruby red with garnet reflections due to aging.
Bouquet
Intense and complex. Notes of ripe red fruit (black cherry, cherry), sweet spices, leather, tobacco, and balsamic hints.
Taste
Structured and elegant, with mature and well-integrated tannins. Good acidic freshness, long and persistent finish.

13.5% - 14% vol.

Pairings
Excellent with roasted or braised red meats, game, aged cheeses, and flavorful pasta dishes.
Refinement
Approximately 10-12 months in oak barriques and tonneaux, followed by further bottle aging.
Vinification
Fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, with long maceration on the skins. Malolactic fermentation completed.
