The company today led by the young Giuseppe Pedrotti boasts a centuries-old family history. The frame is the Valle dei Laghi, Trentino, just north of Garda. An area of great spirits, but blessed by a climate, both mild and mountainous, which gives wines of exceptional character. The vineyards of the Valle dei Laghi are a real garden set between these magical mirrors of water. The lakes of Toblino and Cavedine, combined with the beneficial breath of the Ora, a mild breeze typical of the area, create the best conditions for elegant reds and whites with splendid aromas, thanks to the excellent daily and seasonal temperature variations.
Giuseppe, like his father Gino, is an "integral" winemaker, without compromise in terms of respect for the territory, biodiversity and intervention in the cellar. The di lui are natural wines, but clean and full of sensations, as well as history. Wines that evoke the dreamy climate of the Toblino Castle, but which transmit sincere, clear and sometimes decisive aromas and flavors. This is demonstrated by the Vino Santo, Giuseppe's flagship and a product that the family protects and contributed decisively to save from extinction. A long withered Nosiola and then refined for over ten years. A masterpiece that, like all Pedrotti wines, respects the principles of spontaneous fermentation and strictly indigenous yeasts.
In this valley, where silence still manages to dominate the quietest nights and afternoons, Giuseppe owns thirteen different plots, which guarantee him no more than 25,000 bottles a year. Among the local varieties, in addition to Nosiola, the Pedrottis cultivate a splendid Rebo. It is a red berried grape created in 1948 by the agronomist Rebo Rigotti of the Agricultural Institute of San Michele dell'Adige, crossing Teroldego and Merlot to generate a product that combines the gentleness of the perfumes of the first with the structure and strength of the second. .
The Pedrotti Rebus does not disappoint expectations, on the contrary it exceeds them. Here, in fact, the Rebo confirms a variety of personal and original character, which gives wines without frills, territorial and extremely enjoyable. Intense red but with persistent hints of cherry, on the nose the Rebo shows a rustic herbaceous note that gradually opens into a beautiful outfit initially vinous, then pleasantly fruity and floral. The dynamic and fragrant approach of the nose is confirmed in the sip. Here the taster will find a beautiful balance between the structure, far from overflowing, and the tannin, vivid but integrated. Sapid and caressing, it is at the same time lively, crunchy and snappy, so much so that it lends itself to very varied combinations, from the typical salted meat to aged cheeses. Excellent for those who do not like hypertrophic reds, but also for those who, even in summer, cannot do without red.
