MERLOT

DOC TRENTINO
Originally from Bordeaux, Merlot is grown in the central area of
Trentino in valley floor areas where soils are alluvial and gravely, and in
hillside sites where they are often morainal in origin mixed with clay
and also rich in trace elements which contribute greatly to a wine's
complexity. A southern exposure is very important for the ripening of
the grapes.
WINEMAKING
After de-stemming and crushing the must is fermented with the skins
for 10-14 days to extract colour and tannins. Once malolactic
fermentation is complete, the wine is racked and partly matured in
French oak.
ANALYTICAL DATA
Alcohol 12,5-13% vol.
Acidity 4,7-5 g/l.
DESCRIPTION
Rich ruby with garnet reflexes. Fruity on the nose with hints of spices,
red fruits and green pepper; dry, mouth-filling and harmonious with
elegant tannins.
GOES WELL WITH
Drink it as an accompaniment for red meats and cheeses and serve at
room temperature. It will continue to improve for several years to
come.
