Production area: c / da Caselle, on the eastern side of Etna, municipality of Milo (Ct) and c / da Cavaliere, on the southern slope of Etna in the municipality of S. M. di Licodia (Ct).
Altitude: 900 and 1,000 m above sea level.
Climate: high hills with significant changes in temperature between day and night.
Terrain: volcanic sandy, rich in minerals, with subacid reaction.
Vines: 100% Carricante, raised in alberello. This native vine is grown only on Etna. It seems that the name has been attributed by the winemakers of Viagrande for the attitudes of the vine to give a good production over the years. The bunches, when ripe, are of medium length, averagely sparse. The grape is medium in size with a very pruinose, yellowish-green skin. The pulp is juicy, the taste is simple and sweet.

Age of vineyards: 35 and 50 years.
