Rainoldi Sassella Riserva is a prized dry red wine, 100% Nebbiolo (locally known as Chiavennasca), hailing from the Lombardy region, specifically the Valtellina subzone. It presents an intense ruby red color with garnet reflections. The nose offers an intense and complex bouquet, with notes of ripe red fruits, violet, spices, and an elegant balsamic touch. On the palate, it is dry, full-bodied, and well-structured, characterized by elegant tannins and a long mineral finish. With an alcohol content of 13.5% Vol., this wine is an authentic expression of its terroir. It is aged for at least 30 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, followed by a further period in the bottle, which completes its complexity. Vinification involves destemming, soft pressing, and fermentation in steel vats with maceration on the skins for 10-15 days at controlled temperature. It is recommended to serve it in a large Burgundy or Nebbiolo glass at 16-18°C, ideal when paired with red meats, game, important roasts, and aged cheeses.
