the number of minutes required for cooking is usually written behind the package. I love, as an Italian, pasta al "dente"
then I drain it 1 minute before what is written and then I toss it in a pan with the dressing 30/40 seconds so that the flavors blend.
If you do not find the minutes written you have to touch the pasta being cooked with the fork, there is a moment when the pasta is no longer rigid and feels to the touch if it is cooked.
