Torgaio is one of Ruffino's most innovative wines, and yet its fragrant, youthful character perfectly reflects a time honoured Tuscan wine style: a red wine easy to drink, floral, inviting - a wine to share with family and friends - a wine for many occasions.
The grapes for the production of Torgaio are cultivated in selected hillside vineyard located in the heart of Tuscany.
In Torgaio the distinct character of the Sangiovese grape reveals its softest, most charming side, especially if this wine is served slightly chilled.
TORGAIO TOSCANA IGT
GRAPE VARIETAL Merlot and Sangiovese.
VINEYARDS
The grapes used to produce Torgaio come from vineyards located in the hills of Tuscany best known for wine-growing, among wich the Estates of Lodola Nuova in Montepulciano and La Solatìa, near Monteriggioni.
VINIFICATION AND AGEING
The grapes are harvested from the second half of September until mid-October.
Alcoholic fermentation continues for about ten days in stainless-steel vats, temperature controlled at an average of 25°C to preserve Torgaio's fresh and fruity aromas.
After the malo-lactic fermentation, the wine rests in stainless-steel vats at a controlled temperature of 16°C until it is bottled.
SENSORY PROPERTIES
Colour: ruby red with purplish overtones
Aroma: intense, vinous and full-filling at the nose. Notes of red berry fruit, black cherry and plum with a floral background lead by the typical Tuscan sensation of violet.
Tasting profile: the impact of this young wine is fruity and surprisingly fragrant. It is medium-bodied and characterized by a distinctive aromatic note of mature fruit. Very persistent, it has a finish featured by a distinctive fresh sensation.
Due to its fresh, fruity attributes, Torgaio may even be consumed slightly chilled.
